Is Organic Upside free?

Yes. There is no account, no paid tier and no signup. It is run by Aliso LLC, the company behind Web Cited.

Where does my data go?

Nowhere, unless you click the live lookup in Detailed mode. Every number stays in your browser. The page saves your scenario in your browser's local storage so it is there next visit. Share links carry the numbers in the link itself. Settings files are downloaded to your computer. The lookup sends only the phrases that have no volume yet, and only when you click it. Apart from that the server sees the page request, a cookieless page-view count and a count of which buttons get used (share, print, save, load, detailed mode, lookup).

What are SEO, AEO and GEO?

SEO is classic search results, the blue links. AEO is answer surfaces: Google AI Overviews, featured snippets, People Also Ask and answer engines such as Perplexity. GEO is AI assistants: ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Copilot, where being recommended or cited inside a conversation is the goal.

How accurate is the projection?

As accurate as its inputs. The defaults are round midpoints of published benchmarks and are listed with sources on the Benchmarks page. Replace them with your own analytics and the projection becomes a business case you can defend line by line.

What is the difference between the two views?

What we have now values the visibility you already have, as if it went away tomorrow: your current visits, positions, citations and mentions, every month, with no ramp. Reaching our targets values the extra you would earn by improving from today to a target, ramped in over time. Same rates, same benchmarks.

How do I find where I stand?

For Google, Search Console shows your average position for free under Performance, then Queries. For AI Overviews, Perplexity and the assistants, type the phrase in and see whether you are cited or named; it takes about a minute a prompt. If you would rather have it tracked against your own list, Web Cited's Citation Monitor, from $49 a month, runs 10 to 25 prompts across six engines every week.

What is influenced value and why is it off by default?

Direct value counts clicks. Influenced value estimates buyers who heard a recommendation from an AI assistant and came to you later without a tracked click. It is real, but it is an estimate built on two assumptions you can change. It stays out of the headline until you switch it on, so a skeptical reader always sees the conservative number first.

Can I use this for a client?

Yes. Pick an industry preset if you do not have the client's analytics, run the scenario, and send the share link or print the PDF. Every assumption is visible, which tends to go over well with client finance teams.

Where do the looked-up volumes come from?

Google Ads, through DataForSEO. The lookup fetches average monthly searches, and average cost per click for keyword rows, for the market you chose. It fills blanks only and never replaces a number you pasted. The benchmarks page has the details.

Why did some rows not get a volume?

Google Ads has no data for some phrases, and it refuses phrases longer than 80 characters or ten words, or with characters such as question marks. Those rows stay blank and the tab says how many. You can paste a volume for them yourself.
