The calculator
Everything you type into the calculator stays in your browser unless you use the live lookup or send your prompts to Web Cited, both described below. We do not receive it otherwise. The page stores your scenario in your browser's local storage so it is there on your next visit; clear site data in your browser to remove it. Share links contain your scenario inside the link. Anyone you send a link to can see those numbers. Settings files are downloaded to your device and never uploaded.
The live lookup
Step 2 has a button that looks up search volume and cost per click, shown once you add rows. It does nothing until you click it. When you do, the keywords, questions and prompts that have no volume yet are sent to our server, which passes them to DataForSEO, a search data provider, to fetch Google Ads figures for the market you chose. Nothing else from your scenario is sent. A Cloudflare Turnstile check runs in the page first to keep bots out; it loads a script from Cloudflare and sends Cloudflare a token and your IP address to confirm you are a person. Our server keeps a count of lookups per visitor for two days, stored against a hashed form of the IP address, so no one can use up the daily allowance for everyone else. The answer for a given list of phrases is kept for 30 days so a repeat lookup costs nothing; that stored answer is not linked to you. DataForSEO's own handling of requests is described in its privacy policy at dataforseo.com.
Sending prompts to Web Cited
Under the results there is a button that reads "Check my AI visibility with Web Cited". When you click it, the questions and prompts in your scenario, up to 25 of them, are put into the address of the Web Cited signup page, which opens in a new tab so the form arrives filled in. Nothing leaves your browser until you click, and nothing else from your scenario goes with them. Web Cited is run by the same company and has its own privacy page at https://web-cited.com/privacy.
Importing a Web Cited reading
Step 2 has a box for a Web Cited report link, and a button on Web Cited's own report and weekly email opens this calculator with that link's token in the address. Either way your browser fetches the reading straight from Web Cited's API using the token in the link; our server is not involved. The token is removed from the address bar before the page view is counted, so it never reaches analytics. The reading's prompts and shares are written into your rows and nothing else is kept.
Analytics
We use Plausible, a cookieless analytics service, to count page views and a few button clicks (share, print, saved settings, loaded settings, opened the detailed view, lookup, Web Cited click, Web Cited import). Plausible does not use cookies, does not track you across sites and does not receive any of the numbers you enter. Its data processing is described at plausible.io/data-policy. The site's own functions also keep anonymous weekly counts of lookups and contact messages, with no addresses or text, for an operator page that is not public.
Contact form
If you use the contact form we receive the name, email address and message you send. We use them to reply and for nothing else. Messages are delivered through Resend, an email provider, and stored in our mailbox for as long as the conversation is useful. Ask us to delete a message and we will.
To keep automated submissions down, the form counts how many messages have come from one sender in a day and stops after three. That count is stored against a hashed form of the IP address, never the address itself, and it expires after 48 hours. The form also uses a hidden field and a timing check that bots trip and people do not.
Hosting
The site is served by Cloudflare, which processes visitor IP addresses to deliver pages and block abuse under its own privacy policy.
